Playing School

Long past Eric's bedtime I heard him busily chatting in his bedroom. I wondered if Adam had woken, and peeked around the door to see what was going on. There on the bed, surrounded by toys and waving an admonishing finger at a stuffed dog, was my little boy.
"I'm playing school", he explained enthusiastically. "Batman is the principal, and Superman is the teacher, and all these toys are in the class." It turned out the stuffed dog had been particularly naughty, and Eric had stepped in to lend a hand with school discipline.
I left him to it ... after all, bedtime can wait when you have a classroom to run!

How sweet! Isn't it wonderful to discover what their imaginations conjure up? :)
