The Birthday Party

The busy baker (Boo puts the finishing touches -- lots of lollies! -- on his "alien robot" birthday cake) ...

The finished monster (all Boo's work -- it must have taken him nearly an hour of concentrated effort -- but wasn't the result spectacular?) ...

The birthday boy sets off to his party, wearing his custom-made crown ("it must be green, and have tiger buttons and green sparkles on it") ..

"King for a Day"! Boo was determined to have his party at the play centre, just so he could sit at the head of the table on the throne. He certainly was treated like royalty, and despite the heat the kids had a marvellous time slipping down the huge slide and rushing through the mazes.

But my baby's not quite five yet, as his birthday is only on the 31st (we chose to celebrate early to miss the Easter rush). We'll have a little family dinner then, with chocolate icecream and lamb cutlets (his favourites), and his very last gift.
